Lip Augmentation

An attractive lip has a short distance between the base of the nose and the upper border of the lip.  Attractive lips maintain youthful rounded curves and eversion. The “V” or cupid’s bow is neat and well-defined.  Think of the eversion of a young child’s lip and how this slowly changes with time. The vermillion becomes less visible at the corners of the mouth. The mouth tends to invert at the lateral borders, with age.  Vertical lines begin to develop and radiate from the upper lip border to the base of the nose. I like to restore the rounded curvature to the upper and lower lip,  without creating an over blown look. Following the natural contours creates an asethetically pleasing result. Fillers create volume and definition. A gentle lift to the corners of the mouth can enhance the overall appearance of the face. from tired and drawn looking, to more rested in appearance.

Lip Enhancement

Cosmetic injectable fillers can be very effective in restoring volume loss and creating a lovely lip. With cosmetic lip enhancement, we can add volume to lips and improve their contour.Depending on what you want to achieve, this can vary from subtle fullness to a more voluminous look. The vermillion border or rim of the lips changes with time and the development of wrinkles, which can etch into the border. A delicate enhancement with filler may minimise the appearance of these fine lines. Fine, precise injection technique coupled with a good understanding of asethetics can create a beautiful result.

What you can expect from Lip Enhancement

Lip enhancement is designed to help patients achieve a more contoured, fuller appearance to the lips. Procedures to augment the lips are typically performed using injectable dermal fillers. Dermal fillers offer a way for you to achieve more lovely looking lips without the need for invasive surgery or lip implants. The treatment involves injection of the dermal filler solution into the lips with a very fine needle. The treated areas can be numbed with a local anaesthetic or a short acting nerve block, to minimise discomfort. Once you have the desired look, the procedure is complete. Lip enhancement usually takes about 30-60 minutes to complete. The lips will appear fuller and may be a little swollen.

What’s involved

Consultation to assess the size, shape of lip, loss of volume or lip border.

  • Assessment of the corners ot the lip. Are they downturned?
  • Surrounding structures

A personalised plan is made to augment and enhace your lips.

The lip will be swollen post treatment. The fillers used are hydrophilic or water loving. Some degree of swelling is to be expected. but settles nicely given time.

I aim to create a refreshed, rejuvenated and natural version of you.
